Review: Stormchild

Stormchild Stormchild by Vivian Arend
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Matt has been wandering through the Pacific Inside Passage for a while, acting as a shaman/doctor for those in need while fighting off the advances of the gracious people he treats. His self-imposed celibacy comes to an abrupt and steamy end when he sets eyes on a mysterious outsider. Her coloring immediately sets her apart from the rest of the water shifters, but he doesn’t care. Their one-night-stand isn’t nearly enough for him. Laurin, however, is determined to make it just a one-night affair, sneaking off for whatever ride the town leader has arranged to get her to her next teaching gig. Unfortunately (or fortunately) for them both, Matt appears to be that ride (in more ways than one – ha!).

While they both have secrets from one another, Laurin certainly has more than Matt expected. These two positively light up the pages as they begin to establish their unorthodox relationship. I’m excited to discover that there are more books in this series and intend to devour them as quickly as this one!
