Review: Dragon Her Back

Dragon Her Back
Dragon Her Back by Susannah Scott

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is my new favorite of the series. I think everyone was waiting or the Darius/Mei story to be told and this gives us everything we want - even a HEA!

Mei comes off as an ice queen, especially towards Darius. They share a mate mark, indicating that they are destined for one another (and that Darius will lose his dragon form if they don't formally mate). Mei has been avoiding and shrugging off Darius in every way that she can. Darius has been trying everything he can think of (or that the internet can suggest) to try to get Mei back to his side (and in his bed). The two are so stubborn that you can't help but understand how years have passed without them getting back to one another. Lucky for us, this story changes everything.

Darius really shows the type of man (and dragon) he is by accepting Mei for all she is (crazy revelations included). Mei also is not the dragon she has been showing everyone. She has a horrible past, some crazy secrets, and has not been as immune to the mating pull as she's been making Darius believe. This couple is awesome and was really fun to watch. They had a lot to overcome, but that's what made the story even better.

This dragon shifter world is really unique and manages to blend a bit of fantasy, magic, and romance without making it a high fantasy novel. I can't wait to see more from this author.
