Review: Charred Heart

Charred Heart
Charred Heart by Lizzy Ford

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book was a steamy dragon shifter paranormal romance that kicks off a new type of series for Lizzy Ford fans. There's a good balance of smut and story, with a few last minute twists and turns to keep it interesting. I wouldn't call it a cliffhanger ending, but I can't wait to see what happens in the next installment.

Chace is a dragon shifter who is ready to end his life. Unfortunately, he's unable to die unless he enlists the aid of a mysterious shifter who has amassed the magic to do so. This, like all paranormal bargains, comes with a price. He must hand over Sky, a dragon hunter, in order to complete the deal. While this seems pretty straight forward at the beginning of the book, their relationship really grows as Sky discovers that the hunter organization she never doubted before may have taken more from her than she thought.

This was a really unique twist on your typical hunter/hunted paranormal romance. I was happy to see a lot of mystery and twists thrown in to keep me guessing throughout the book. Oh, and sizzling shifter scenes never hurt.
