Wow, this third installment of the Blood Stone series really had a lot jam packed into it! There was tons of action, romance, smut, character development, secrets revealed, and mystery mystery mystery! I had no idea what to expect next because this book was really a departure from any formula I’d seen in the author’s previous work. Yes, there is still M/F/M action and M/M action and lots of interesting combinations, but this book also caught us up on all the other characters we met along the way.
The three main characters in this book are Marcus (a CIA agent, which was kind of expected after the ending of the previous book), “Rick” (a vampire who we also met at the end of the previous book, as a “vampire computer”), and Ilaria (an assassin vampire hottie who is working for some ultimately evil organizations). The interactions between these three happened in a strictly one on one fashion until part 2, where everything changes. The alliances, political motivations, and other drivers were hard to get a grip on to predict any sort of happy ending, but boy oh boy was it a wild ride along the way.
It was a great treat to catch up with some of our favorites from the previous books as well as seeing them in their previous roles. I’m rapidly falling in lust with all these characters and stories and can’t wait to read more. I was a little sad when I thought that this was the last book. So much happened along the way that I couldn’t imagine leaving everyone where they ended up. Luckily, after finishing up, I saw there is another book scheduled! Happy day! I am loving these stories that are so alike and yet so different. If you want a good paranormal erotic read, check these out!
