Review: Britton
Britton by Abby Niles
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I've been eager to read this one ever since being introduced to Val and Britton. I knew there was a great story between them and this book proved me right. Something about the love/hate dynamic twisting to a lustful romp made for a wonderful read.
Val is a by the book, strict leader of SPAC, who never misses a chance to rub that fact in Britton's face. Britton is a shifter who has been forced to remain in human form for 20 years as punishment for endangering the shifter community while he was the leader of SPAC. This love/hate thing that they have going was bound to explode, but nothing could really prepare them for how it did. In order to re-enable Britton's masterful tracking abilities to solve a critical case, they have to give him back his beast (or stop silencing it). As with all shifters who fight too hard against any sort of mating instinct, Britton is almost brought down by it in the form on his previous enemy -- Val.
Val is equally dumbstruck by this whole mate thing, although she's at least knows what's going on. It was really great to watch the chemistry sizzle between those two, even as they fought it every step of the way. These books are little yummy delights and I can't wait to see where the story heads next!
