Review: My Big Fat Demon Slayer Wedding
My Big Fat Demon Slayer Wedding by Angie Fox
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
It's official -- this was my new favorite book in this series! Something about the combination of all Lizzie's friends and family in one place, along with a sort of lighter tale made this book really resonate with me. Yes, Lizzie still gets into trouble. Yes, Dimitri is still sinfully hot. Yes, there are still biker witches. It's hard to pinpoint exactly what made this book so much better, but it really revived my love of this series.
In this book we get to see Dimitri and Lizzie go through (to some extent) what all other couples go through on their way to the wedding day. Lots of unexpected family, drinking, things that never go according to plan, dress drama, and don't forget the Earl still gunning for her. There might have been slightly less things gunning for her in this story, which made for a more linear race to the finish. I was happy that it appears Lizzie and Dimitri got a somewhat healthy dose of alone time in this one. They also were actually able to accomplish what they set out to do -- get married. All the other stuff was inconsequential. I even almost got a little choked up at parts, which is a first for me in this series.
All of the usual things that I love about the other books was still present, just in the perfect doses: humor, action, smut, witty banter, sarcastic retorts, Lizzie being tough. Hopefully the books to come will follow whatever secret formula this one did and I'll keep reading as many books as there are available in this series!
