Review: Elfin

Elfin
Elfin by Quinn Loftis

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was a really fun read that was jam packed with enough action to be a really fast paced book! I can't say that I've read many elf-centric books, so this was unique enough to suck me in right away. There is a healthy dose of YA sigh-worthy romance coupled with some rather dark scenes to make it an adults only YA read. The ending was enough of a cliffhanger that I really can't wait to get my hands on book 2!

The story revolves around Cassie, a high school girl who is rather suddenly thrown into a world of elves when she meets the bad boy hottie elf, Trik. They are destined for one another, which usually means a really fast run to the "I love you"'s -- but that wasn't the case! Shocking, right? This author actually puts a good amount of time working on the relationship, the trust, and gives us a lot of time to buy into this soul mate bond. During that time, Cassie is exposed to the two warring factions of the elves and learns all about their realm.

I really enjoyed the overall story and all of the characters we meet. I wish it had a more concrete ending, but that seems to be the norm nowadays. I can't wait to get more of Cassie and Trik (which hopefully ends with a nice big HEA).
