Review: Dangerous
Dangerous by Jax
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
As a fan of Jacquelyn Frank's other books, it was easy for me to pick this book up and dive right in. The writing style is rich and easy to fall in love with. I didn't have any idea what the book was about, but trusted that it would involve some sort of paranormal and some romance.
The story takes place in a world where a typical evil scientist created a breed of Morphates while trying to play god. These Morphates are nearly indestructible, don't age, drink blood, and are super sexy (hey, I'm not complaining). They were separated from society and placed in their own cities, ruled by Alphas in a wolf-esque government structure. The main characters, Devon and Liam, are thrown together when Liam's group of protection detail is hired by Devon to protect her from increasingly violent Morphate attacks.
I'm usually adhere to a strict "no futuristic books" rule, but this book convinced me that I might need to have an open mind about the genre. I read the book almost in one sitting, drawn into the romantic (and super steamy) story that develops between Liam and Devon. The sizzle level was off the charts for the last half of the book! I'm also not your typical military/navy/etc storyline reader, but this author now completely has my trust in all things paranormal. The world that was created in this book has me hoping for more installments!

Carrie, there are two prequel stories in this world. They were short novellas in The PLEASURE PROJECT and NOCTURNAL. The NOCTURNAL one is first, and THE PLEASURE PROJECT is next. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'll have to go find them and add them to my "to-read" list :-)
