Review: Just Bitten

Just Bitten Just Bitten by Rocki Wall
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This short story had a pretty good introduction to the mysterious world of vampires. We join "Heaven," a girl who doesn't remember her real name, as she is on the run from some monsters in the woods. She's barefoot and in a nightgown, but seems oddly sturdy while running in the snow for a while. Turns out, the monsters that are chasing her are pretty vicious vampires that leave her for dead as the sun starts to rise.

Her savior, a much less "monstrous" vampire, ends up feeding off of her too, and ultimately they end up in a vampire master's den. This, obviously, is not the best place for someone who has yummy smelling blood. After some failed escape attempts, things turn a little upside down. Poor Heaven, she gets thrown from one monster to another, in completed different ways. Oh, and she's still not sure about her past. All of that comes to a head in the cliffhanger ending of this story. I'm sure this world will lead to some interesting places.
