Review: Closed Hearts
Closed Hearts by Susan Kaye Quinn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
These books are completely addictive! I love the world that the author has built -- it is completely unique! The story itself has me eagerly tearing through these books, even though the genre is not my typical read. They are a blend of futuristic sci-fi and YA, with a dash of romance thrown in.
In this book we meet up again with Kira. She's been busy "rooking" as a reader while also working as a "mindguard" for her benefactor with her father. She and Raf are still seeing each other, against everyone's wishes. Of course, after becoming the face of the jacker revolution, whether she wanted to or not, she has accumulated a bunch of enemies. There were a number of loose ends she left when she escaped from the prison, and it appears that was a big mistake on her part.
Using Raf as leverage, Kira is forced to work with a band of other jackers with a completely new skill set. I am in love with Julian. I really hope we get to see more of the new "gang" in future books. The interaction between this group was really great. I was 100% a Raf supporter, but after the completely devastating and heart breaking events in this book, I'm ready for Kira to have some good times with Julian and his band of misfits.
I really can't say enough good things about this series. If you're looking for something completely new and interesting, these books are wonderful reads.
