Review: Claimed by the Demon
Claimed by the Demon by Doranna Durgin
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I have not read the first book of this series, but I think this book worked well as a stand alone read. This book introduces Mac, an attempted good guy who is in possession of a demon blade that is trying to take him over. Drawn to evil intentions and situations where he is given a choice between saving people and killing people, he has so far stayed on the side of saving people. Gwen is a brave and outspoken woman who suddenly felt very drawn to a particular location while on walkabout. Running into Mac was obviously not her intention, but the two are drawn to each other none the less. Gwen takes up the task of helping Mac in his battle for control, while discovering even more about her mysterious past.
This book was filled with a lot of action and romance. It was nice to see a tough chick who can hold her own in very scary situations. Without Gwen, Mac would've been completely lost. I really enjoyed watching their relationship grow. Obviously I missed some of the back story by skipping book 1, but the story that I did get was interesting enough to get me reading book 3 when it comes along.
