Review: Hidden Wings

Hidden Wings
Hidden Wings by Cameo Renae

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Wow! I finished this book in an evening because I could not bear to take a break! Where to begin? I loved so many things about it. I really enjoyed the YA sizzle that exists between Kade and Emma. They had my heart racing and my lips smiling throughout the book. The storytelling was done in my favorite way, also. I love reading a book without getting bogged down in a bunch of back story and history at the beginning. This book jumps right in and doesn't let go!

We are thrown immediately into the world of Emma, newly orphaned and set adrift in a world of paranormal creatures (both dreamy and scary angels and their related beings). The first scare we get in the book genuinely scared me (and I'm not one to be easily book scared!). Emma is "escorted" from her home to Alaska, complete with a new world of dangers and secrets. Lots of secrets. Okay, we don't really get all our answers in this book, there are so many secrets.

The action only took a break when the romance was sizzling (and even then, not for long, or sometimes at all). I can't wait to see where this story goes and I'm really excited to have discovered this new author for my shelves (thanks to Indie Inked on NetGalley!). Where will Kade and Emma end up? We were sort of left with a cliffhanger at the end, so I'm eager to check out the other books in the series as soon as possible!

To summarize (because I might have gotten a little bit too gushy and sidetracked along the way) -- this book is a really great YA paranormal romance that has great pacing, lots of action, and a wonderful new world filled with both dreamy and scary angels. Check it out!
