Review: The Vampire's Wolf

The Vampire's Wolf
The Vampire's Wolf by Jenna Kernan

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was definitely a darker, more military driven look at the paranormal world than I typically read. The vampires are ugly, mean, and out to eat you. The werewolves are somewhere in between. And the military is definitely out to get you. Sadly, Bri gets stuck in the middle of all of it.

Bri is a confused girl who has grown up with fairy tales and a caring grandmother. When her grandmother passes away after telling her of her magical past, Bri assumes it's just the ramblings of a dying woman until the vampires start attacking her. Determined to get away, she heads for the werewolves, natural enemies to the vampires. On a military base, she finds Travis and his terrifyingly half-shifted werewolf buddy.

While it took me a little longer to get into this one, the book was definitely something unlike what I have read before. The origin stories for the vampires in this book were interesting and new which gave the story a bit of a fresher edge. The romance was instant and filled with sexy times. Overall, it was a bit of a military horror book that has a romantic twist. If that's your type of read, this one will not disappoint.
