Review: Marked by Midnight

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

If this book didn’t mention the new relationship between Breed and the public, I would have thought this short story took place in the previous timeline. Mathias is a familiar face in the series and it was good to see him get some more time in the spotlight. He’s really holding his own, and gets some good rewards for it.

Nova is a tattoo artist with a past she would like to get far away from. She’s kept to herself and done her work, but everything changes when Mathias recognizes her for what she is – a Breedmate. While she is determined to run away from him, he can’t help but pull her in. This was a really short read, so if you’re looking for drawn out romance with hearts and flowers, there’s none of that to be had. It was almost a love at first sight story, with the Breed/Breedmate twist thrown in. I’m hoping we get to see Mathias in future installments to see how he and Nova work out.
