Review: Darkest Ecstasy

Darkest Ecstasy
Darkest Ecstasy by Tawny Taylor

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I have not read any of the other Gryffon stories in this series and I think it really impacted my understanding of this one. This was not a book with a lot of explanation to catch readers up. It dove right in and kept going without dropping any big hints. Overall, this was a mix of action, romance, and sexy times.

Michelle is an adorably quirky and loveable girl who finally works up the nerve to talk to the hottie who rides the elevator to work with her. Talen is a lot more than she bargained for, though. He’s a Gryffon (I think, although they don’t change into them?), and he’s been tasked with getting married and having a son ASAP. His hardcore BDSM lifestyle, however, has him feeling like he deserves a woman who is more practical and less loving than little ole Michelle. The sparks fly from the first encounter and the heat just grows from there. For a man who thinks he is completely BDSM, there was actually not a lot of bondage in the book (so if that’s not your think, I don’t think that should scare you off). There was a lot of relationship drama, bad guy drama, and baby mama drama all rolled into one paranormal story.

You get a pretty satisfying ending, but I find myself still left with questions. I would love to go back to fill in the blanks with the first few of the series just so I can fully enjoy this one. If you’re thinking about picking this book up, I highly recommend you start at book 1.
