Review: Desired
Desired by Alisa Woods
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was a really quick and fun read that really delivered. While some people are hesitant to read shorter serial-type books, I would highly recommend this one. There is a lot of world building and some steamy chemistry that is built up in just this first installment. I cannot wait to see where this series goes in the future.
Mia is a college student, working to try to pay her bills. She’s on break from bartending at a club that is neutral to all shifters when some aggressive guys try to take advantage of her outside the building. Her savior comes in the form of Lucas, an alpha who is reluctantly drawn to Mia for some reason. This world doesn’t include the ability to identify all shifters on sight (or by smell), which is good for Mia because she’s determined to hide what she is. What she doesn’t hide is her insane attraction and desire for her knight in shining armor. In an effort to avoid a pack war, Lucas urges Mia to stay away from the club (and him, by assumption) before dropping her off at home.
Lucky for us readers, these two seem fated to meet again, at Mia’s new internship (where Lucas works). It was really fun to watch these two try to avoid what is bubbling between them. The sizzle had my heart pumping and I was dying to see these two actually collide. As this was only the first of the serial, we only get a little taste of what is to come. Don’t worry though, the cliffhanger isn’t anything that will keep you up at night (at least it didn’t for me). I really enjoyed the characters in this book and can’t wait to see what else the author has in mind for this addictive series.
