Review: Memory Zero

Memory Zero
Memory Zero by Keri Arthur

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book might be the first of the series, but it really dives right in from the first page. At times, I found myself wondering if I missed something, but we’re all just along for the ride. You get the same feeling that Sam has pretty much throughout, where you’re trying to solve the mysteries alongside her.

Sam is a woman with a mysterious past, even to herself. She can’t remember growing up and has no record of her parents. She a tough cop, but she’s truly tested when her missing partner shows up as a vampire and forces her to shoot him. Oh, and in this world there are open paranormals. It’s the future and it may or may not be a better one. Sam’s actions eventually land her in the “Spook Squad,” a group (I guess?) who deals with the paranormal (again, guessing here?). She’s stubborn and pretty amazing in her own right, but she might just meet her match in Gabriel. He’s a paranormal with secrets of his own, one of which might just be his attraction to the feisty cop.

This book happened at a breakneck speed and I’m still a little confused. I hope we get some good answers in the installments to come because it seems like more questions come up at every turn.
