Review: Bite Me

Bite Me
Bite Me by Shelly Laurenston

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Having not read any of the other Pride books, I didn't have the back story on all the side characters mentioned in this one. While I'm sure knowing about the was a great tidbit, I don't think these books really need to be read in sequence.

This book was an awkward love story between Livy and Vic. Livy is an aggressive and slightly homicidal honey badger shifter who is out for revenge. Vic is the socially awkward hybrid shifter who suddenly finds himself sucked into Livy's complicated world. The two of them most definitely should not mix well, but somehow the super awkwardness of the two of them together totally works. I think I'd enjoy any character hooked up with the wonderfully witty (and, yes, super awkward) Vic. Both of their extended families are hilarious and filled with heart.

It was certainly the most unlikely combination of random characters and events, but it was an enjoyable read. Some smut, some action, and some love story goodness -- exactly what I expect from a shifter romance.
