Somewhere between a 3 and 4 star read, this book was quick but filled with lots of good, solid story and character development. There was way more romance and story than smut, just in case that’s what you were looking for. Either way, if you’re a paranormal fan, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by this solid start to a new series.

Grace is on the run from her controlling friends and family under the guise of attending college really really far away. She’s on the way to developing a stronger, happier Grace when she bumps into Aiden. He’s the typical bad boy with secrets and one of those happens to be paranormal in nature. Lucky for Grace, though, because he seems to always be there to rescue her from would be attackers and whatnot. The chemistry between the two of them is certainly more of a romance than a blinding all reason mate-type attraction. I certainly appreciated the brakes being thrown on your typical shifter-human romance.

This book was short, but really got me involved in this world. I’m eager to see where the series heads when given more time to develop. This author has officially been added to my “watch” list.
