My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is, by far, my favorite of the World of the Nightwalkers series! It even had cameos from my favorites of the original Nightwalkers books, for those of you who have read all the previous ones.

Ahnvil has been a main character for a few books now and I was pleasantly surprised that he finally got his own book. This book primarily stayed with Ahnvil and Kat, his feisty rescuer. After his hasty escape from the bad guys, he finds himself pretty badly wounded and passed out on Kat's secluded property. Trapped in a snowstorm with a hot Scottish gargoyle? Sounds like a recipe for a really great paranormal romance to me! Luckily we get that and more in this book. There's a big bad tough chick lurking inside the recluse that Kat has become. She's tough enough to stand up and melt the overbearing monster that comes out of Ahnvil.

Oh, and the chemistry! The heat and sizzle is off the charts in this book. We get a good amount of bedroom time and even more romance (and HEA!) to balance it all out. One of my least favorite things, bad guy POV, was severely minimized, making the POV hopping a lot less frequent and a lot easier for me to read. All in all, I think this is the book that has gotten me firmly back on Team Nightwalkers. I can't wait to see where all these amazing tie-ins and plot twists take us!
