Review: Calypso's Heart

Calypso's Heart Calypso's Heart by M.C. Solaris
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Woah, this book is filled to the brim with world building and characters! As the start of series, it certainly delivers.

Caly is going about her normal life when suddenly everything is different. She's got hot dreamy men who turn out to be real. Hot evil men who also, sadly, turn out to be real. That ultimately ends up being the big bad of this book. Caly goes through *a lot* in this one book, but it is all leading up to her "becoming." So, let's back it up. Caly thinks she knows a lot about her world, having survived without her parents, has been making rent and working a job, and generally being a responsible adult. There is a whole other world, however, that is beyond the "barrier" where all sorts of supernaturals live.

Blake is one such supernatural, who heads up a pack of very diverse males. It's this crew that Caly finds herself suddenly a part of after some ugly stuff. Blake is, of course, immediately smitten. These two have super sexy smutty good times and even work on a relationship. The rest of the crew is clearly set up for future installments, but I loved each of them in their own way. Don't worry, there's women, too! As far as world building goes, this book delivers and then some. It is *long* and that's from a book addict. The pages fly, though, especially with the shifting POVs. I can't wait to see where the author takes us next!
