Review: Tempted By Fire

Tempted By FireTempted By Fire by Erin Kellison
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I am loving this new world of dragon shifters! This story was sexy, sweet, and completely addictive. I couldn't put the book down once I started. I had to know what happened to this unlikely of pairs.

Thane is pretty sure he's on his way out. He can't shift anymore for fear of him not coming back to human form. He's lived a long life and just found out that the remains of his wife and child were found in an archaeological dig. Sadly, he is being contested for rights to the remains by an enemy dragon clan. This has required their use of a mediator.

Emerson is still not 100% sure she actually has any dragon blood in her. Luckily, though, her testing positive gave her a free ride in school, supplied her with her cushy job, and has given her (unwanted) security guards. She's pretty sure that she wants out and that this will be the very last job she works for the "bloodkin." If she can survive these two hotheaded dragon shifters then she should be fine on her own.

Thane and Emerson don't instantly fall head over heels in love. I liked that they didn't even seem to have romance in mind until it whacks them over the head. Thane is doing his final farewell tour at the same time that Emerson has essentially checked out of her own life. These two reawaken exactly what they each need. Thane needs a reason to live and Emerson needs a reason to accept her bloodkin status.

After lots of bloodshed (in the typical dragon way) and even more denial, these two make an absolutely perfect couple. I was completely sad when the book ended because I wanted even more from these two. The world, the characters, everything really drew me in. I can't wait for more from this author.
