Dragon Fall by Katie MacAlister
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book took me through all the ups and downs that go along with the wild and crazy dragon world. There was a ton of humor, romance, and world building in this first installment of a new series.
Aoife is a stranger in her new home town. On her search for entertainment, she ends up at a Goth fair that changes her life. After witnessing her date get skewered and resurrected, she spends a few years getting her head on straight. That should fix everything, right? It appears to work until the night she runs over a talking demon dog and finds a naked dragon-man washed up on shore. Turns out, she has a magic ring that can save the dragon world from a horrible curse. Oh, and the dragon-man (Kostya), when he’s not being an arrogant jerk, is pretty dreamy.
As the first of what should hopefully lead into several other books in the series, this book really sets us up right. We get a whole brand new world filled with dragons and magic. We meet some hilarious and fantastic characters. Oh, and there is no shortage of “big bads.” The only negative I could say is that the book ended too soon! I wanted at least another chapter to wrap things up so I could let this book go without worrying about the state of all these characters. Looks like I’ve got to sign up for book 2 to see what happens next!
