Review: A Bite to Remember

A Bite to Remember A Bite to Remember by Lynsay Sands
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book continues the story of the Argeneaus by focusing on Vincent. We spent some time with Vincent in the previous book, but I kind of thought he was a little... immature. I was glad that the Vincent we met in this book was pretty different.

Vincent's business is suffering a bit of bad luck, but the latest incidents have forced him to acknowledge that there is something fishy going on. This much bad luck just can't happen to one person. Using Bastien (as the whole family does), he ends up opening up his life to Jackie, a PI who is "in the know" about their kind.

Jackie has a huge problem with vampires. Unfortunately, her business is largely hired by them. She's determined to put her prejudices aside and be the most professional person she can be. This would've worked out just fine if she didn't find herself attracted to the bloodsucker who hired her. She and her partner end up moving in to the barren house that Vincent lives in to play the pretend roles of PA and housekeeper which makes it much harder to ignore their chemistry.

While investigating the mystery baddie who is sabotaging Vincent's work, Jackie and Vincent end up discovering that fate might have thrown them together. With all the drama surrounding their getting together, it was wonderful to watch both these people end up with a HEA, even if it wasn't the one I anticipated.
