Review: Fateful Magic

Fateful Magic
Fateful Magic by Rachel Higginson

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This was a really cute, short addition to the Star-Crossed series! The novella flip-flops between the present and the past, filling in lots of gaps and giving us wonderful glimpses of a softer Tallbot.

The story is told from Lilly’s perspective and really sold me on the idea of this mismatched pair ending up together. She started out so weak and timid and really grew into a wonderful young woman. Tallbot, too, grew (in my eyes) throughout the story. He begins as a duty bound soldier and ends the book as a really great husband. Overall, this was a nice little addition to the series, but not critical to your understanding of any of the other books.
